Christian education at St. Michael's is designed to help all members of the parish grow in their faith in Christ. The opportunities listed below are to nurture us in our relationship with God, others and ourselves.
Church School Christian Education for youth is held September-May on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:50 a.m.(downstairs in Lewis Hall) for preschool-8th grade. We are using the Episcopal Children's Curriculum and the Episcopal Curriculum for Youth.
Teen Talk A program and curriculum specifically designed for high school students held on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:50 a.m. (downstairs in Lewis Hall)
Communion Class Held for 6 weeks in the spring every other year. These classes are offered to second and third graders to provide them with a deeper understanding of the Holy Eucharist. A celebration ceremony is held during the 10:00 a.m. service at the conclusion of the program.
Confirmation Held once a year in the spring, confirmation is a way in which we express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Sprit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. After confirmation, one is a confirmed communicant member of the Episcopal Church. Those desiring to be confirmed are required to attend the Emmaus Youth Retreat, Teen Talk classes and confirmation preparation classes (Inquirers Class)
South Central Emmaus Youth Retreat A weekend long event, this retreat offers high school age teens a short course in the Christian way of life. Participating in and ecumenical Christian community offers the youth a unique opportunity to meet teens from other area churches, enjoy uplifting music, share themselves in a time of deep reflection. This weekend helps provide insight into their own lives and deepen their relationship with god through presentations, fellowship and small group discussions.
